The book moves through freedom as consumption, ego as a substitute religion, external validation, perfectionism, and the cult of control. It is neither a conventional novel nor an academic essay, but a moral allegory of contemporary life.
The central question is not whether we are influenced. It is whether we can still recognize the mechanism once it feels indistinguishable from our own will.
